About LetterLock
LetterLock is a trivia board game for two teams. It takes the letter-on-a-hex idea that many people remember from TV quiz shows and rebuilds it on a fair board: the rhombus of the classic game Hex, where both teams have paths of exactly the same length and a game can never end in a draw. Knowing the answer is only half the game; the other half is where you choose to play.
Who makes it
LetterLock is made by RAL SOFTWARE SERVICES, a small software studio in the Kingdom of Bahrain. We design and build everything in house: the rules engine, the question packs, the website and the apps.
How the questions are written
Every pack is written for LetterLock, with each answer starting with a specific letter so that any hex can serve a question. Packs are checked by script for duplicates, wrong letters and answers that leak into the question, then fact-checked. Arabic packs are written natively in Arabic rather than translated. Today there are 193 packs and 42,745 questions; the full list is in the Packs guide.
